Cherry Eye

Pour Buddy, our new English Bulldog pup, has recently developed this inherited eye condition.

Only, now, both of his eyes have it.  He was supposed to have surgery with our local vet the Thursday before my surgery, but the vet didn't feel he would do what was necessary and sent us to the only animal opthomologist in Dallas yesterday, which included Buddy spreading eagle before entering the elevator as well as while on the elevator.  He really was not sure of this new experience.

Surgery is scheduled for next Monday, Dec 7th.

I wish I knew where my camera was so I could have Colton take a picture of Neal and I trying to get drops in each of Buddy's eyes everyday.  Although it's very frustrating, I'm sure it would be quite the hilarious picture!

This picture taken in September (4 mos).  Buddy has grown a

bunch since then!  He's now 6 months old.

I never imagined myself spending so much money on a dog, much less taking it to a specialist!  But what else do we do with him - he's already part of our family.
