Angels

Don't you just love it when your children come to a greater understanding of who they are and how they relate to God?  I do!

Yesterday's reading, in "Bartholomew's Passage" (see previous post), went to great detail explaining the glow of an angel that had appeared.  How it is so bright that you couldn't even stand to look at it, and you might feel as if it should burn you, but it doesn't.

Then, this morning, we read about Bartholomew searching the city for the new born baby, the Messiah, and the evil men chasing another boy's father to kill him.  Also, a star appeared so bright that night and it seemed so holy.

I hope I haven't given too much away...

After each reading, there is usually a question or two to ponder.  Today the question was, "Jesus was born into a dark world, a world of cruelty and death.  What was it about Him that made Him a light to the world?"

I could see the revelation come over his face.  After thinking for a moment, his response was, "So, we don't shine like God because of our sin, we are not pure and holy like he is."

Yes!  High five, bud!  You got it!
