New York {Top of the Rock}

Rockefeller Center was not one of our top 4 "must see" locations, but it came in at a speeding pace of #5 and we had the time one night.  Any famous building with one of the highest views was what tickled Colton's delight and this one was no exception.

a face full of delight

Times Square is always lit up and easy to spot

One of the best parts of the trip for me was a delicious pre-fix Thanksgiving dinner at Rock Center Cafe.  A gorgeous, relaxing restaurant set underground, overlooking Rockefeller Ice Skating Rink.  It was so cool to take an elevator from street level down underground to the restaurant's front door.  We were thankful to have reserved a table as the wait was 2-3 hours without one!  This was the first time I tasted brussels sprouts and they were seared or roasted somehow.  I was surprised how tasty they were, though I don't believe I would care for them prepared any other way.  Other than the Pumpkin Bisque everything was absolutely delish!

All of that white in the trees in the background is not snow but lights.

Although we never made it inside Radio City Music Hall during this trip, we certainly passed it many times walking to and from our hotel room and around Times Square.  Lovely Christmas tree...wouldn't you agree?  Once, some ladies asked us to take their picture with the sign in the background and I, of course, was more than happy to oblige.  In fact, I should probably wear a sign that reads, "Happy to take your picture!"

Next Up: Bus tour and Statue of Liberty with a slice of coal oven pizza!

  1. You just can't see it all in one trip. Guess you'll have to go back sometime! Isn't it an amazing city?
